This artwork is based on a fivefold tiling, using 5 tiles - 2 fish and 3 turtles. It is the largest tessellation I have made to date, and is a square format.

The tiling is self-similar, and therefore has a fractal structure. To reveal this self-similar nature, there are three scales of circles in the artwork (actually they are 10-sided polygons - that is decagons). The first scale of circle is formed by the small ochre fish, they form an interlocking network across the design. The next scale of circle is formed by the turquoise fish, they repeat exactly the same pattern of interlocking shapes. The third scale is the entire circle of the design, and the sweep of the arcs can be seen in some of the turtles.

Other patterns and lines are also formed by the design, and depending on viewing distance and what creature or tone is focused on, different patterns appear to foreground or recede.

The name Concentricity refers to this quality of containing concentric versions of itself.
