2018 is the second on my 12 year series of Chinese New Year tessellations. This Dog year the design is in a papercut style, and features puppies in tummy-tickling mode. To counteract the saccharine cuteness they have a slight ‘Day of the Dead’ styling. This year the lucky numbers are 4 and 9, and the colour red, so this is a 9-Fold tessellation using 4 tiles, and a total of 144 puppies in lucky red - which is 9 x 4 x 4. It has 18 sides for 2018. 4+9 is 13, so 13-2-2018 is a good day to release it. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
